Death of a Tear
©️ Lady Andariel
April 29, 2022.
Whipping winds howling out the sounds of whispered screams.
The pain contained within these terrifyingly loathsome dreams.
I wish to wake and find myself in pleasant pastures fair.
Instead I lie coherent, but asleep, trapped in this virulent despair.
My beating heart pounding unsteadily in rhythms unaware,
Of needing desperately to regain consciousness and leave, for just a moment, this demon and his lair.
Imaginary shackles tethering my ankles, drowning me, as if at sea. I claw with fingers long devoid of blood, bereft of flesh.
Tearing violently at the nothingness seeping oh so silently into my chest.
A single tear escapes my blinded eye, traveling south, trickling its way to a meaningless death.
For even tears will dry and be forever gone, when left to fade in jaded minds. And feral more becomes the child left alone as they struggle to survive.
