Broken Hearts

 Broken Hearts

The Lady Andariel

©️ 10122024

The ship and its crew sailed from port early in the morning. He had left home before the sun began its journey onto the horizon. She watched her love close the door behind him, and she felt nothing but anger. He was leaving to be with his mistress, the sea.

She could bear no longer the lonely days and nights that his absence brought, but, she did not a tear drop.

No, instead she gathered herself and walked to the shore where the ship was still visible, though the distance was far. She chanted the words that would bring chaos and demise, to the crew.

Slowly and quietly she suddenly began. With all the anger her broken heart had.

“You will forever remain with the sea that takes you away from me. You shall lie in your mistress’ arms and swallow her salty charms.”

She called up wind and wave to take ship and crew to their grave.

As she grew in power and voice, the wind whipped about, the storm poured from dark clouds. As she chanted the words from her heart, the ship rocked back and forth. It slipped beneath wave after wave, leaving captain and crew amazed. For they were not prepared.

And then, she dared the sea to take them.  Forever to rest where their deeds could no longer leave the women bereft of heart and head.

  1. Also liking that your story fits the art (like that orifice-like edge of the cliff looks like it could receive, enclose, and/or fuck that potentially phallic-looking ship, and those details are like that saying “Fuck that shit” but the mood is more like fuck that ship. Reminding me of Hole’s song “Violet”, your post is preternaturally deep and outpunishingly powerful.
